13 best SEO automation tools I'm using in 2025

I'll be honest, I turned a blind eye to AI and automation at first.

Even though I was running an SEO agency and doing a lot of "busy work" I was afraid to dip my toes into the AI stuff.

It wasn't until last year that I started to see the real power of SEO automation tools and became a believer.

And I'm not talking about tools that just automate the writing process for you (I never advocate using AI to generate content you publish).

I'm talking about tools that actually help you speed up your workflow and help you automate repetitive tasks within your SEO operation as a whole.

A few tools on this list have actually helped me drastically reduce my production time going from idea to publish. For example, it used to take me about 8 hours to find a good keyword, create an outline, write the article, format it for my CMS, and publish it.

Now, it takes me max 3 hours to do the exact same workflow — and I’m still writing everything myself! (Yes I used em dashes way before ChatGPT ruined them unfortunately.)

Alright, let’s go dive deep into what SEO automation is, what areas you can automate in your SEO workflows, and also a list of popular tools I’m currently using and experimenting with.

What is an SEO automation tool?

An SEO (search engine optimization) automation tool is a platform that uses AI to automate parts of an SEO workflow that would otherwise have been outsourced to a virtual assistant or junior SEO specialist. It helps speed up your production process and automate any repetitive tasks in your SEO initiatives.

Which parts of SEO can be automated?

While I don't advocate for using AI to take over all of your SEO efforts, especially writing or SEO strategy, I do believe there are ways to leverage automation to speed up your content creation process.

Here are some examples of how I use automation tools in my SEO workflow:

  • Automate copy editing: Here I write a blog post myself (just like this one) and then I have an AI agent editor automatically proofread and edit my article for grammar mistakes.
  • Automate content brief creation: There are two tools below I'll show you that I use to help me speed up the process of creating a content outline. I still add my own human insights, but it helps with about 50% of the brief creation.
  • Topic clustering: This is when I have a bunch of keywords that I want to group together. Or, I have a few keywords within a certain topic and I want to expand on more potential keywords to target within that topic.
  • Keyword pillar ideas: This is where I give a tool like ChatGPT my website goals and it helps me figure out different pillars (or categories) of keywords I should think about.
  • Interlinking: Some of the tools we'll go over have helped me easily find interlinking opportunities when I'm adding content into my CMS.
  • SERP scraping: I have an AI agent (I'll show you how to make it in this article) that can scrape the search results for any given keyword and then go to Semrush and gather whatever SEO data I want from those links.
  • Keyword analysis: Notice I didn't say "keyword research," that is still very human and close to my chest for me. What I mean by analysis is when I have a bunch of keywords I want to target and have an AI agent automatically pull search volume, CPC, and other relevant keyword data and export it into a Google Sheet automatically.
  • Client admin work: What I mean by this one is using platforms like ChatGPT or Claude to help me with client pitches, organizing my thoughts, and client reporting (in emails).

AS you can see, there are a lot of ways you can use AI to automate SEO performance — from content strategy to competitor analysis.

What to look for in an SEO automation tool

It’s getting easier and easier to build software. And because of this, there are tons of new AI tools being flooded in the market. Some of them are great, most of them suck. But that’s why you come to Marketer Milk to push through the noise and find the good stuff (that’s actually tested).

However, I always aim to help you learn how to fish instead of fishing for you. So I think it’s important that you know how to evaluate these tools for yourself.

Here are a few things I think you should pay attention to when looking for an SEO automation tool:

  • Integration with your existing tools: Think GSC, Google Analytics (GA4), Semrush, etc. It should fit into your current tech stack.
  • LLM integration: Ideally, it lets you create AI agents or workflows with ChatGPT, Claude, or any LLM model
  • Data accuracy: No hallucinated data. You need reliable, valuable insights you can act on.
  • Team features: Whether you're solo or part of a larger SEO/content team, it should have a collaborative vibe to it.
  • Security: Especially important if you're connecting it to GSC or analytics. You don’t want your data sold.
  • Pricing: It should cost less than hiring someone to do the same task manually (and most do).
  • Good customer service: Many of these tools are new and evolving fast. You want fast support when something breaks.

Alright, now let’s jump into some of the best SEO automation tools on the market right now.

13 best SEO automation tools for 2025 (free + paid)

Here are the best SEO automation tools:

  1. Gumloop (for automating SEO workflows)
  2. AirOps (for automating content operations)
  3. Surfer AI (for AI-assisted writing)
  4. Alli AI (for CMS automations)
  5. Page Optimizer Pro (for AI-recommended on-page SEO)
  6. ChatGPT (for deep research H2 ideas)
  7. n8n (for self-hosted AI agents)
  8. SEO Stack (for Search Console analytics)
  9. LowFruits (for SERP analysis)
  10. Relume (for AI landing page generation)
  11. Looker Studio (for automating client reporting)
  12. SE Ranking (for AI Overviews tracking)
  13. Clearscope (for content decay detection)

Let’s go over what each tool does.

1. Gumloop

Gumloop automation platform
  • Best for: Automating SEO workflows
  • How I use it: Web scraping, outline generation, & keyword analysis
  • Pricing: Comes with a free plan, then starts at $97/month

If there’s just one SEO automation tool to try out after reading this article, it’s this one.

Gumloop is an automation tool that lets you build AI agents in a no-code interface. If you’ve used Zapier or Make before, it’s very to that (connecting tools together). But what makes Gumloop different is that it adds an LLM layer to workflow automations.

The tool claims to help you with automating any workflow with AI and it's pretty true. I mean at least when it comes to marketing, sales, or operational stuff in your business you can literally create any sort of automated workflow.

The main thing about Gumloop is their value prop is that you don't need an engineering team to build internal AI tools. So it allows anybody that is not technical to become an AI engineer using their no-code interface and it works based on creating nodes.

Here’s are the core elements of how Gumloop works:

  • Nodes: This is essentially like individual tools or LLMs that you can drag onto your canvas.
  • Flows: These are the connections you make between nodes to create a workflow. So the word flow comes from the word workflow. This is essentially your automation.
  • Subflows: This is a flow within another flow, so it allows you to isolate certain parts of a workflow. You can actually integrate a flow into a larger workflow, which then turns it into a subflow.

With Gumloop, you can create these AI agents for different SEO workflows. For example, I have an AI agent that takes a blog post draft (like this blog post draft I'm working on right now for this article) and it will automatically proofread it and edit any grammar mistakes using ChatGPT, and that's all automated.

SEO automation in Gumloop

Gumloop is so powerful that I truly believe you can build a lot of different automations within your SEO workflows — where it makes many of the other tools sort of obsolete. It doesn't completely erase the need for every tool, but it does let you build whatever you want as long as you know what the steps are.

The platform has quickly become one of my favorite AI automation tools on the market — so much so that I went to the Gumloop office in San Francisco to meet the team!

Me outside the Gumloop office
Me at the Gumloop office

If you want to check out the tool, it's completely free, and Max, the CEO, gave me a 20% off coupon code for my readers. So use code MARKETERMILK at checkout for 20% off any paid plan.

Gumloop pricing

Here are Gumloop’s pricing plans:

  • Free: Gives you up to 1,000 credits.
  • Starter: Starts at$97 per month with 30,000 credits.
  • Pro: Starts at $297 per month with 75,000 credits.
  • Enterprise: Unlimited everything, request pricing from their website.

Overall, this is a great automation tool you should check out. I also wrote a full Gumloop review if you want to dive deeper into the types of workflows I build with it.

2. AirOps

AirOps automation platform
  • Best for: Automating content operations
  • How I use it: Creating content calendars at scale
  • Pricing: Free to start using

Next up on our list is AirOps. AirOps is a platform that allows you to automate the content operation parts of your SEO workflows. The platform claims that you can take LLMs, your brand knowledge, and live data to help you generate topics to create content around. And if you want, you can use AI to help you write those topics (although I don't always recommend using AI to blindly write content).

Here's what AirOps can do:

  • Workflow Builder: This allows you to create automations very similar to Gumloop that help you research content to write, help you create it, help you automate it, and help you with optimization.
  • AI Copilot: This is their AI tool that allows you to turn ideas into AI workflows without writing any code. This is pretty much like Gumloop built into the AirOps platform.
  • Power Steps: This is about creating certain workflows or "AI agents" that turn repeatable actions into reusable workflows.

The AirOps platform is best for content marketing teams and SEO teams that are specifically focused on creating editorial content, or programmatically creating a bunch of editorial landing pages at scale.

The team is constantly shipping new features, and it's used by a ton of growing brands like Contra, Wine.com, Toys“R”Us, and Ramp.

If you're a small content team trying to produce a lot of SEO content, this is definitely a tool to check out. They have a pretty generous free plan.

AirOps pricing

Here are AirOps’ pricing plans:

  • Solo: $0/month. Includes 1 user with 1,000 tasks per month.
  • Scale: Custom/month. Includes unlimited users with Semrush SEO data.
  • Agency: Custom/month. Includes everything in Scale with CMS integrations.

3. Surfer AI

Surfer AI platform
  • Best for: AI-assisted writing
  • How I use it: For experimental websites (not on this one)
  • Pricing: Starts at $99 per month

Surfer SEO is a tool that's been around for a while, and I've been using it for quite some time on and off, here and there. I included it in this list because they've launched Surfer AI, which allows you to write content faster with AI.

The cool thing about Surfer AI is that it has a built-in content optimization platform. So this means that you can basically start with a keyword in the platform, and then Surfer AI will figure out what the best approach is to writing an article and what other keywords should be included in that article. Then, you can use the platform to actually help you write faster with AI.

It's a great platform if you're a solopreneur or a very small team that is trying to automate much of the content creation process.

However, I would not recommend it for educational-heavy content or thought leadership content that needs your own expertise. The AI content writing feature is probably best for new sites or media brands that talk about topics that are more subjective rather than objective.

Regardless, it's a great tool to check out, and it's super popular and trusted by a lot of people.

Surfer AI pricing

Here are the different Surfer AI pricing plans:

  • Essential: $99/month. Lets you track 200 pages across your site and allows you to automate 30 articles per month.
  • Scale: $219/month. Lets you track 1,000 pages across your site and gives you 100 articles a month to write and optimize.
  • Enterprise: Custom pricing that is based on whatever you need and includes white labeling and API access.

4. Alli AI

Alli AI platform
  • Best for: Creating CMS automations
  • Pricing: Starts at $169 per month

Alli AI is an AI SEO agent platform that works with any CMS, and it allows you to create optimizations on your website or your clients' sites — making it great if you're running an agency.

The way it works is that you first install a code snippet onto your site. From there, what you can do is edit, change, approve, or unapprove any automated recommendations. So it essentially turns your CMS into an AI recommendation tool.

Then, from there, you go into an approval stage, where it tells you what changes you can approve on the site. If you approve them, they'll go live on your website in minutes.

At its core, Alli AI is an on-page optimization tool that leverages AI automation to make the optimizations on your behalf.

AI schema markup generator
Alli AI's schema markup generator feature

It’s super powerful and one of the tools on this list I’m exited to see grow and evolve over time.

Alli AI pricing

Here are the different Alli AI pricing plans:

  • Small Biz: $169/month. Gives you 1 site and lets you track 250 pages.
  • Consultant: $399/month. Gives you 5 sites and lets you track 1,250 pages.
  • Agency: $699/month. Gives you 15 sites and lets you track 5,000 pages

5. Page Optimizer Pro

Page Optimizer Pro platform
  • Best for: AI-recommended on-page SEO
  • Pricing: Starts at $37 per month

Page Optimizer Pro (also known as POP) is an SEO automation tool that helps you with your on-page SEO.

Founded in Australia in 2018, the platform helps you gather information on existing pages so you can optimize them for specific keywords. The tool also helps you add schema markup to your website so you can get more traffic from Google, Bing, and even ChatGPT.

What I like about this tool is that you can integrate it with your ChatGPT API key, and it can act as an AI writing assistant for you. There are a handful of other tools in this list that can help you with optimizing your on-page SEO, but this is a cheaper alternative to Clearscope, which is one of the tools on this list.

Page Optimizer Pro pricing

Here are the different POP pricing plans:

  • Basic: $37/month. Gives you all the essentials to get started.
  • Unlimited: $67/month. Includes everything in Basic + keyword tools.
  • Teams: $130/month. Includes everything in Unlimited + more user seats.
  • White Glove: Starts at $225/month. Book a call for more information.

Here’s what users of POP rate the platform:

6. ChatGPT

ChatGPT for SEO automation
  • Best for: Deep research for heading ideas
  • Pricing: Free; then $20/month

Next step is an obvious one, ChatGPT. Now, how can you actually use this one for SEO automation?

Well, one way is through the tool we talked about, Gumloop, where you can connect any tool in your tech stack and automate it with ChatGPT (or really any other LLM).

But the way I actually use it to automate some of my SEO workflows is exactly how I’m using it right now. Which is: sometimes I’ll talk out my blog post, using speech to text, and then I’ll create a ChatGPT prompt that takes what I said and cleans it up for grammar, clarity, and readability.

Now, using Gumloop, I can create a fully automated workflow where it does this for me inside a Google Doc.

The other way I use ChatGPT for SEO automation is to help me figure out what topics to talk about within a specific blog post. I don’t necessarily use it for finding the main target keyword to go after — ut once I know the keyword I want to rank for, and I’m ready to create an outline, I’ll ask ChatGPT:

“What are some questions you think people would be asking based on this topic?”

(The topic being the keyword or blog post title.)

Then I’ll take those questions — I won’t use all of them, but I’ll pick the relevant ones — and turn them into H2 subheadings in my post.

Overall, you can use ChatGPT for a lot of different things, but I think it’s really best for deep research to find these sorts of questions. One way to do deep research is to give ChatGPT a subreddit related to your industry, niche, or topic you want to go after, and then tell it to find the most common questions people have in that subreddit. You can then try to use those as H2 ideas.

ChatGPT pricing

Here are the different ChatGPT pricing plans:

  • Free: $0/month. Gives you access to the latest GPT model.
  • Plus: $20/month. Gives you everything in free + deep research + extended limits.
  • Pro: $200/month. Gives you everything in Plus, with access to Operator.
  • Team: $30 per user/month. Everything in plus, with internal company knowledge base.
  • Enterprise: Custom, reach out them for more details.

7. n8n

n8n AI agent builder
  • Best for: Self-hosted AI agents
  • Pricing: Starts at $24 per month

n8n is an AI agent builder that’s very similar to Gumloop, except n8n can be self-hosted.

The platform is similar to other no-code workflow builders like Make.com, Zapier, or Gumloop, but it has that LLM layer built in. The great thing about the platform is they have tons of community-created templates, so chances are there’s already a template for the type of workflow you want to build.

n8n SEO template
SEO workflow template for n8n

These templates are kind of like website templates — there are free ones, and there are also paid ones created by people in the community.

The platform leans a little more on the low-code side instead of being purely no-code, so it’s better suited for slightly more technical users. If you’re not that technical, you might want to use something like Gumloop instead.

But if you are a little more technical and want more flexibility, like adding JavaScript and being able to execute code within your AI agent workflows, n8n is a platform to definitely check out.

I wrote a Gumloop vs n8n review article if you want to check that out as well to see which one is the best fit for you.

n8n pricing

Here are the different n8n pricing plans:

  • Starter: Starts at $24/month. Let’s you execute 2,500 tasks a month.
  • Pro: $60/month. Let’s you execute 10,000 tasks a month.
  • Enterprise: Contact them for custom workflows and pricing.

8. SEO Stack

SEO Stack platform
  • Best for: Search Console analytics
  • Pricing: Starts at £49.99 per month (currency in GBP)

SEO Stack is an analytics tool that integrates with your Google Search Console and gives you AI content auditing in real-time.

The platform helps you automate the process of finding SEO issues through Google Search Console. It’s a newer tool that I’ve discovered, but it works great if you’re an agency or a freelancer managing a ton of client websites.

This is a great tool to help you automate a lot of the reporting and better understand what’s happening with your client websites in real-time. There’s also a traffic projection tool, which is specifically helpful for people who serve clients, since clients really like those kinds of insights.

SEO Stack pricing

Here are the different SEO Stack pricing plans:

  • Lite: £49.99/month, includes 3 websites.
  • Basic: £99.99/month, includes 5 websites.
  • Pro: £199.99/month, includes 10 websites.
  • Small Agency: £349.99/month, includes 30 websites.
  • Large Angecy: £999.99/month, includes 50+ websites.
  • Enterprise: Custom pricing per month.

SEO Stack rating and reviews

There’s not much information on reviews from third-part websites about SEO Stack. However, I did find this article if you want another person’s perspective on the pros and cons of the platform.

9. LowFruits

LowFruits keyword automation
  • Best for: SERP analysis
  • Pricing: Starts at $29.99 per month

At it’s core, LowFruits is a keyword research tool that helps you automate SERP analysis of your competitors. It also helps you uncover weaknesses or content gaps they have, helping you find hidden gem keywords to target.

You can also use the platform to import a set of keywords you already have and automate the clustering and topic creation part of your SEO strategy as well.

If you're looking for a tool to help you automate keyword research for long-tail keywords, this is definitely a tool to check out.

LowFruits pricing

Here are the different LowFruits pricing plans:

  • Standard: $29.99/month, gives you 3,000 credits a month.
  • Premium: $79.99/month, gives you 10,000 credits a month.

LowFruits also has a 100% money back guarantee which is a nice tough.

10. Relume

Relume
  • Best for: AI landing page generation
  • Pricing: Free, then starts at $26 per user/month

Relume is a tool that helps you design and build websites and landing pages using AI.

At first glance, it might not seem like an SEO tool, but it’s one I’ve been using a lot more — especially with client websites where I’m helping them build new landing pages. It helps me create and design pages much faster.

At its core, SEO is about creating new pages on your website that target specific keywords, so I thought it made sense to include this tool since I actually use it to create landing pages for new SEO campaigns.

Now, with Relume AI, you can literally design entire websites, wireframe sitemaps, and export them to Webflow, Figma, or even custom React code.

Specifically, if you’re using Webflow as your website builder and CMS of choice for SEO (like I do) Relume is definitely a platform you should look into.

Relume pricing

Here are the different Relume pricing plans:

  • Free: $0/month, gives you 1 project with 1 page.
  • Relume Starter: $26 per user/month, gives you 1 project with 5 pages.
  • Relume Pro: $58 per user/month, gives you unlimited projects and pages.
  • Relume Team: $52 per user/month (min 3 users), gives you everything in Pro.

Relume rating and reviews

Here’s what users of Relume rate the platform:

11. Looker Studio

Looker Studio SEO template
  • Best for: Automating client reporting
  • Pricing: Free

Next up is Looker Studio, formerly known as Data Studio. This is essentially a free platform by Google that allows you to integrate different data sources to create dashboards for yourself or for your clients.

I use this specifically for SEO to create SEO dashboards. I actually wrote this article here that you can check out on exactly how I create those SEO dashboards.

This is a great platform if you want to pull in your Google Search Console data and manipulate it to show specific metrics and KPIs that your clients care about.

You can also design the dashboards to include your client’s logo and brand colors. It’s great for automating much of your reporting and gives your clients their own dedicated dashboard that they can check on anytime. This way, they don’t have to constantly hit you up to see how their SEO metrics are doing.

Looker Studio pricing

Here are the different Looker Studio pricing plans:

  • Looker Studio: Free to use
  • Looker Studio Pro: $9 per user/month

Here’s what users of Looker Studio rate the platform:

12. SE Ranking

SE Ranking platform
  • Best for: AI Overviews tracking
  • Pricing: Starts at $65 per month

Next up is SE Ranking, which is another tool that’s great if you’re an agency that wants to automate SEO reports for your clients.

Specifically, I added SE Ranking to this list because it’s good at AI Overviews tracking. Given that AI Overviews are the craze right now, there are a lot of different tools trying to help publishers and website owners understand how their traffic is performing when it comes to search rankings in AI Overviews.

AI Overview analyzer

On top of AI Overviews tracking, SE Ranking also has a lot of auditing features. You can uncover broken links, and technical issues that might be hurting your visibility.

It also gives you valuable insights into your backlink profile, keyword difficulty, and domain authority, all of which help you maintain a competitive edge.

SE Ranking is definitely a great platform to look into if you want to automate that reporting.

SE Ranking pricing

Here are the different SE Ranking pricing plans:

  • Essential: $65/month, includes 500 keywords to track.
  • Pro: $119/month, includes 2,000 keywords to track.
  • Business: $259/month, includes 5,000 keywords to track.

Here’s what users of SE Ranking rate the platform:

13. Clearscope

Clearscope content decay feature
  • Best for: Content decay detection
  • Pricing: Starts at $189 per month

And last but not least, we have Clearscope — a content optimization platform that can help you with keyword density in your content. The platform helps you optimize for relevant content and search intents by analyzing what’s already ranking.

But, it can also help you figure out what content is starting to lose keyword rankings and traffic (my favorite feature).

The way I’ve used Clearscope a lot in the past has been for content optimization, but the feature I really love is the Content Decay feature. It helps you quickly figure out which pages are losing traffic and need to be updated.

While you can do this in Google Search Console by comparing previous date ranges and sorting by pages with the highest negative click difference, Clearscope just automates the entire process and tells you exactly what pages are decaying and need your attention.

Clearscope pricing

Here are the different Clearscope pricing plans:

  • Essential: $189/month, includes 100 content inventory pages.
  • Business: $399/month, includes 300 content inventory pages.
  • Enterprise: $Custom/month, includes custom usage.

Are SEO automation tools worth the cost?

If the cost of an SEO automation tool on a monthly basis is less than the cost it would take for a human to complete that task based on an hourly rate, then yes, it is worth it.

The important thing to figure out is if an SEO task is something that can be easily taught and understood by anyone, then it can probably be automated with an AI marketing tool.

However, if a part of your SEO process (like for me, much of the early keyword research and ideation, and also the actual meat of writing a webpage based on my own personal experience and insights) is very human, then I, one, don’t want to outsource that to AI, and two, don’t think it’s a good idea.

In those cases, if you use tools to automate things like SEO content writing, I think the tools aren’t worth the cost. And by cost, I don’t just mean money — I mean the cost of time.

There’s a J.R.R. Tolkien quote that says, “shortcuts create long delays,” and I’m a huge believer in that. Using AI to generate content, and then going back as a human to edit that AI-generated content, fits perfectly into that quote. You’ll likely end up taking way longer to create something great from an SEO perspective than if you had just started with the human aspect.

As you’ve seen throughout this article, there are tons of different tools that can automate repetitive tasks in your SEO process. So now it’s up to you to figure out how you can slowly remove yourself from certain parts of your workflow, so you can focus more on the human side.

Hopefully, by now, you’ve figured out a way to automate much of the operations side of your content workflows, and it can save you tons of time. I know it has for me. It’s literally dropped my production time from 8 hours, for example, for one landing page, down to around 2 to 3 hours per landing page. Powerful stuff.

And that’s it. Happy SEO automating!
